Queerlesque = queer burlesque. Burlesque by, for and about the queer community. Because we want to see our lives reflected in burlesque.
Because we celebrate queer bodies, of all kinds.
Because we push the conventional burlesque boundaries of gender and sexuality.
Because we are not content to be the "sideshow" anymore, unless we choose to be.

This is a community project, to preserve the rich and gaylorious history of queer burlesque. We want pictures, videos, articles, blog posts, personal thoughts and essays, academia-- anything related to queer burlesque (both words defined by you, the reader-viewer). A little about me, your mod:
I started Queerlesque!, an all-queer all-burlesque revue, in spring 2010 in New Orleans because I saw a need for burlesque by, for and about the queer community. Queerlesque! is committed to providing queer burlesque performers and allies a safe stage on which to perform and also try out edgier acts as well as a safe space for queer audiences to enjoy the magic of burlesque.
Did I mention submissions encouraged, desired, craved, sought, coveted...basically-- this queerlesque archive cannot be satiated!
